Turquoise Community: Encourage captures a moment of uplift, trust, and emotional support through movement and gesture. One figure lifts another upward, creating a dynamic sense of momentum that reflects encouragement as both action and intention.

As part of the Turquoise Community series, this work explores how support can elevate others through trust and shared strength. As a Deaf artist, I express these ideas through visual language—using gesture, contrast, and composition to communicate meaning without sound. The interaction between the figures reflects a balance between stability and motion, where encouragement becomes a form of connection.

The composition transitions from a structured gray background into bold fields of color, guiding the viewer through layered perspective. Red introduces energy and passion, while blue provides calmness and balance. Black and white elements ground the figures with clarity, reinforcing a sense of control within movement.

The turquoise gloves remain a defining symbol within the series, representing protection, knowledge, and self-awareness. They emphasize that encouragement begins with understanding oneself and extends through the ability to support and uplift others.
